Ambitious new project will enhance learning and cooperation

Cultivating high-quality application-oriented innovation talents with international vision and strong engineering practice ability will be the focus of the new initiative between China’s BUU and Russia’s Ural Transport University.


As part of the ‘rail transit and road’  the two universities will emphasise the construction of disciplines and specialties, upholding the concept of ‘broadening the scope, laying a solid foundation, strengthening practice, respecting ability and seeking innovation’.  It will pay special attention to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the Belt and Road Initiatives and implementing the OBE concept.

 

The college program, approved by the Ministry of Education’s Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools in 2016, has established the new program to carry out undergraduate education cooperation with Russia’s Ural State Transport University. The program will cultivate talents with international consciousness, communication ability, competitiveness and ‘special cooperation with Russia’. The training mode of rail transit professionals is: 3+1; the tuition standard of this major is 36,000RMB each year, and there are more than 300 students at present.



CHINESE-RUSSIAN COOPERATION PROJECT

BUU and Russia’s Ural State Transport University actively responded to ‘the Belt and Road Initiative’ strategy, and jointly organized a Sino-Russian joint school project (rail transit signal and control major) which was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2016.


The project will give will make full use of the advantages of the educational resources of the two schools, introduce advanced international education systems and methods, respect the characteristics of Chinese students and borrow the education experience of domestic colleges and universities to cultivate the high-end applied talents with international vision. The talents will respect both Chinese and Russian culture and they will also have high overall quality and international competitiveness. With the goal of high-end international application-oriented talents, we will strive to create a domestic first-class Sino-Russian cooperative education project.



The Ural State Transport University is a university jointly established by the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Education. As a specially designed cooperative institute of the Russian Ministry of Transport, it boasts a national transportation research institution, which is one of the nine railway universities directly under the Russian Ministry of Transport. And it is one of the top 100 universities among more than 2,600 universities in the Russian Federation, it ranks third among the Russian transportation colleges and universities, and is among the top universities in the Russian Federation and CIS countries.


The university is located in Yekaterinburg, Russia’s fourth largest city, on the dividing line between Europe and Asia. It is an important transportation hub, industrial base and science and education center in Russia.
