Chinese Speech Contest Sees International Students Shine
Twelve international students displayed their communication skills earlier this month when they took part in the Chinese Speech Contest held at BUU.
The competition’s theme was ‘China in My Eyes’, ‘My Hometown’, and ‘My Life as an International Student’, and aimed to improve the Chinese language skills of students from Russia, Thailand and Japan and promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries.
The contestants delivered wonderful speeches in fluent Chinese and showed their profound understanding of China and a deep nostalgia for their hometowns.
During the intervals, the international students also gave wonderful cultural performances with songs and dances from traditional Chinese culture. Modern street dances and ethnic songs and dance performances were also on display. The audience felt the profound heritage of Chinese culture as the international students demonstrated their love and respect for diverse cultures.
