Thailand’s Surindra Rajabhat University and BUU look to strengthen educational ties
A new chapter of cooperation between BUU and the Surindra Rajabhat University in Thailand was opened last month following a high-level meeting between the two institutuions.
President Sharon Sukuton led a delegation to visit BUU and met with BUU President Lei Xingshan and Vice President Chang Hongmei. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on inter-school relations and signed a cooperation agreement.
Lei Xingshan warmly welcomed the Thai delegation and pointed out that Beijing Union University has a long history of educational cooperation and joint talent cultivation with Thai universities. “This visit by Surindra Rajabhat University will open a new chapter in the Sino-Thai educational cooperation of BUU” he said. “I believe the two sides can achieve common development in education, scientific research, and other aspects and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.”
Sharon Sukuton thanked Beijing Union University for its hospitality and outlined his wish that the two universities could conduct in-depth cooperation in aspects such as the joint cultivation of international students in the Chinese Normal Education major, teacher-student exchanges, and rural revitalization research.
Chang Hongmei introduced the implementation of the "2+2" double-degree program for international students in the Chinese Normal Education major of BUU.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of the Tourism College BUU’s library.
