Notice of Application for International Chinese Language Teachers Volunteers of 2024
I. Position Requirements
We are currently recruiting 2 International Chinese Language Teachers Volunteers for the Confucius Institute at Trinity Saint David University in Wales, UK, co-built by Beijing Union University.
II. Dispatch Time
The proposed dispatch time is in the second half of 2024, with a term usually lasting for 1 year.
III. Eligibility for Registration
Applicants must be undergraduate graduates of 2024 or postgraduate students currently enrolled at our university.
IV. Application Conditions
Applicants must abide by laws and regulations, have good conduct, no criminal record, and a passion for international Chinese language education. They should have a team spirit and dedication, be in good health, and possess good psychological quality and adaptability. They should also have good professional quality and communication skills.
Mandarin proficiency should be at the level of Grade 2, Class A (inclusive) or above, and English proficiency should be at the level of CET-4 or above.
Applicants should have a background in Chinese International Education, Chinese Language, Foreign Languages, or related fields, and possess talents in Chinese traditional arts.
Priority will be given to those who hold the "International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate" issued by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education (hereinafter referred to as "CLEC").
V. Registration and Selection Process
Download and fill in the "Beijing Union University International Chinese Language Teachers Volunteers Registration Application Form" . Send the electronic version of the "Application Form" in Word format, the signed and stamped "Application Form" in PDF format, copies of academic certificates (undergraduate graduates must provide a proof of enrollment), Mandarin proficiency certificates, foreign language certificates, etc., to heyaling@buu.edu.cn. Please title the email: Registration for International Chinese Language Teachers Volunteers + Name. All paper materials should be handed over to the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
After our university reviews and completes the preliminary screening, the recommended candidates will be interviewed online by the UK Confucius Institute.
Those who pass the interview will participate in the selection exam organized by CLEC. Successful candidates will attend the pre-service training organized by CLEC, with specific arrangements to be notified later. Those who pass the pre-service training assessment will be eligible for CLEC funding and will sign relevant agreements with our university before being dispatched.
VI. Benefits
The volunteers' living allowance, accommodation, insurance, international travel expenses, and other benefits will be implemented in accordance with national regulations.
VII. Other Matters
Applicants should fully understand the national conditions, epidemic situation, and epidemic prevention policies of the destination country before applying. They should participate in the project voluntarily after full communication with their families and rational assessment.
Except for objective reasons such as epidemic restrictions in the destination country, sudden major natural disasters or wars, significant family changes, or personal health issues that prevent departure, volunteers who participate in the training and are ultimately admitted should follow the project process and be dispatched as planned.
